Welcome to NNPC 2027.
From 15th September, until 15th November, the competition is open for entries. Submit your best shots and compete for a wide range of great prizes, as well as recognition and prestige.
The Nordic Nature Photo Contest is constantly evolving, and ahead of NNPC 2027 we have made a few changes.
The categories «Threatened Nature» and «Nordic Outdoor Photo of the Year» have been discontinued. However, this does not mean that we no longer want these types of images. On the contrary, we encourage you to submit them in the other categories where they fit best. A photograph taken on a trip, for example, may naturally belong in the «Nordic Landscape Photo of the Year» category, while images highlighting the vulnerability of nature may fit into several of the competition’s other categories.
We have also adjusted the distribution of sponsors and prizes. The aim is to make the prizes more relevant to the photographers competing in the different categories. A photographer working creatively and artistically may, for example, appreciate photographic equipment or other relevant prizes more than several days in a photography hide.
Bird and wildlife photographers will, at the same time, have the opportunity to win stays at some of Norway’s most exclusive photography hides. We hope this will mean that even more winners receive prizes that both inspire them and suit the type of nature photography they are passionate about.

But the most important part of the competition is you, the photographers. Without your images, creativity, experiences in nature and the stories you tell through your photography, there would be no competition.
We therefore hope for a strong turnout in NNPC 2027. Perhaps it will be your photograph that wins one of the prestigious prizes, along with the recognition of being named one of the Nordic region’s best nature photographers.
The photos in this competition must be taken in the Nordic region: Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Svalbard. There are now two categories where photos from anywhere in the world are allowed: “Best Portfolio of the Year” and “Natur&Foto Image of the Year.” For the category “Natur&Foto Image of the Year,” the photo must be taken on one of our organized tours. In the category “Mammal Image of the Year,” we have changed it to “Nordic Animal Image of the Year.” This way, other animals such as amphibians, fish, snakes, etc. can also be included. Previously, it has been a problem that we did not have a separate category for these species.
The competition is open from 15. september 2026, and close at 15. november 2026 midnight.
